2. What is the lifespan of a borehole?
A properly developed (drilling and casing installation) borehole is suitable for a lifelong.
3. Which areas do you operate?
While our main office is located in Nairobi, our operations span across the entirety of Kenya.
4. How much is a borehole?
Borehole drilling charges are per meter. The price covers drilling, casings and test pumping. To the depth as per the survey. There are 2 major methods of drilling namely; Air drilling and Mud drilling . The method to be used is determined by the geological survey.
5.Electric or solar pump?
Picking between an electric or solar pump involves considering the energy source. Both serve the same purpose, with electric pumps relying on the grid and solar pumps harnessing solar energy.
In terms of costs, solar pump installation is pricier upfront due to investments in power storage and solar panels, but its operational costs are minimal. On the other hand, electric pumps have a lower initial installation cost but involve ongoing operational expenses, subject to monthly power rates from the utility provider (KPLC).
6. Does drilling a borehole to the depth recommended by a hydrogeologist ensure a guaranteed water supply?
There is always an inherent risk, and we cannot provide a guarantee. However, by utilizing our hydrogeologists for borehole siting and water survey, the success rate for your borehole increases to 80% – 90%.
